(Mammogram, Ultrasound, MRI)
The first step women and men can take to aid in the early detection of breast cancer and reduce the death rate is breast cancer screening. If, during a breast self-exam, a lump or pain is detected, it’s imperative to speak to a breast care specialist immediately.

*Please note: Breast Care Specialists of Carolina, PLLC offers ultrasound, but not mammograms or breast MRI.
Mammography is the most utilized form of breast cancer screening in the United States. Many women have had mammograms or other forms of cancer screening imaging, such as ultrasound or even breast MRI, for diagnostic purposes. When there has been a indeterminate or suspicious finding, many general radiologists or practitioners will refer patients to Dr. Princess Thomas Williams at Breast Care Specialists of Carolina.

Patients in North Carolina may be referred to Breast Care Specialists of Carolina, PLLC to perform a thorough evaluation of the mammogram, breast ultrasound, or breast MRI. Dr. Princess Thomas Williams may request a breast biopsy after reviewing the images provided to help diagnose and begin treatment for her patients quickly. A complete breast ultrasound is used as an adjunct to prior screening, if indicated. Referrals for diagnostic mammogram or breast MRI can also be made if it is determined by Breast Care Specialists of Carolina, PLLC that this will aid in diagnosis.
